Alberta Avenue Real Estate
Alberta Avenue is one of Edmonton's older residential neighborhoods, dating back to 1894. At the time, this neighborhood was part of the "Village of North Edmonton" which laid outside Edmonton's town limits. Up until 1906, the first pocket of housing remained isolated, when a significant portion of what is know known as Eastwood was sub-divided.
Alberta Avenue developed between 1906 and 1912, which was capitalized as a "land boom" by Edmonton real estate brokers and speculators. During this rapid growth period, Alberta Avenue's physical layout became established as we know it today.
Near the core of downtown, the community contains a large proportion of small residential lots with housing styles from bungalows to 2-story homes. Many commercial buildings exist along 118 Avenue.
Alberta Avenue real estate is bordered North by 122 Avenue, East by 89 Street, South by 111 Avenue, and West by 97 Street.
